Reiki (pronounced Ray-kee) is an ancient holistic technique which promotes relaxation and harmony by balancing the mind, body and spirit.The word Reiki is made up of two Japanese words – Rei which means Higher Power and Ki which is Life Force Energy.Universal Life Force Energy, which is the unseen force in every living being and every thing, is channeled through the practitioner’s hands to the main Chakras in the body to balance and restore the energy.If one’s life force energy is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

Reiki is a simple, non-evasive technique that works by healing the cause of the problem.This in turn can help to ease the associated physical problems that can arise.Although Reiki should not replace traditional medicine, it can be used as an effective complementary addition.

Benefits of Reiki

Reiki can help in many ways and works on some level whether you are a believer or not. 

Spiritually, Reiki helps you to connect to your higher self as you are in a meditative state during a treatment.The energy helps to balance your chakras and your intuition is strengthened, encouraging spiritual growth.Your vibrational frequency is also increased.

Mentally, taking time out for yourself does help to just relax your mind.In doing so, a sense of clarity and simplicity is found.

Emotionally, as Chakra s are connected to our emotions, a treatment can sometimes bring old memories to the surface forcing us to deal with them as part of the healing process

Physically,  Reiki has been proved to help with pain and discomfort.Each chakra is connected to a part of our endocrine system so for example if you have an issue with your throat chakra, your thyroid can be affected or you can struggle with communication.

Other benefits of Reiki are deep relaxation, which releases stress and tension, the body’s self healing ability is accelerated, aids better sleep, reduces blood pressure and heart rate, helps relieve pain, removes energy blockages, removes toxins, improves intuition, helps one to discover their life purpose and brings clarity and peace.

Reiki is not a religion, but it does become a way of life.It teaches you to look at life in a much more peaceful way and to see the bigger picture in every situation.There are five main principles in which to try and live your life by and you will find in time that Reiki becomes a part of everything you do, why not give them a try?
